▌PROGRAM #2
CARE: Community Action and Resource Education (Senior High School)
CARE offers underprivileged senior high school students the opportunity to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals while also learning the importance of helping others. This program is designed to equip its participants with ability and empowerment as a result of helping others at school and through community service. We hope to show them the positive ripple effect in spreading love.
Goals:
-
- Fulfill Dreams:With the goal of giving every student an equal opportunity to develop their abilities, this program puts participants on a journey to discover and realize their dreams.
- Good Samaritan Values:By helping others in need, students will understand that, in a mutual aid society, every individual′s contribution is valuable.
- Good People:Giving is an act of love that every person has the power to perform. Practicing altruism is not only key to greater good but also personal good.
Strategies:
-
- Trade-focused Courses:Schools either select or recommend students for the program, and work with them to strengthen their trade specific education or collaborate with local industries to design training courses that develop industry knowledge and professional skills.
- Institution Integration:We seek suitable social or public service institutions where the students will have an opportunity to bring their youthful energy to these organizations.
- Building Motivation / Service Records:Encourage students to study, enter competitions or take the national technician certification tests; introduce a mechanism to encourage students to participate in public service.
- Diverse Curriculum:Provide opportunities for high-quality interdisciplinary courses/camps where students can participate thereby expanding their global perspectives.
Progress:
-
- Schools reported that supported students were motivated to study hard and actively plan for future goals

Looking Forward:
Partnering schools reported that this program had been of great help to students′ families in strained circumstances, and that this program had generated greater enthusiasm among the teachers. In the past, they were able to provide limited assistance with available funds, but with the funding from the CARE program, they had been able to expand the scope.
